About Me
Hi, my name’s Zulun Zhu and I graduated from Zhejiang university and National University of Defense Technology for bachelor and master stages respectively. Currently I am the second-year student in Rochester Institute of Technology. For the master stage, as well as simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) systems I also have experience making swarm intelligent robot operating system and software. During my Phd stage, I am focusing on the Spiking Neural Networks and Graph Neural Networks. I have worked at a number of projects gaining teamwork and leadership skills. I am most skilled in C++.

Loop Closure of 3D Laser-based SLAM With Visual Information
Design of loop closure of laser-based SLAM, code analysis, physical experiments and writing papers
- Developed expert knowledge of overall architecture about ORB-SLAM2 and LOAM system and their code content, and the method design was carried out
- Designed, wrote and debugged the code; completed the preliminary target of laser SLAM closed-loop detection; effectively reduced the cumulative error
- Made many KITTI data sets compatible with the system; completed the experimental test of the designed system, and effectively corrected the accumulated error of the whole point cloud map
- Assembled Husky intelligent robot; completed the construction of remote control system and the installation of sensing devices
- Collected PCL point cloud data of campus environment; encapsulated the data and input it into the system to complete the physical experiment

Surrounding Perception Module of Swarm Robot
Completed surrounding perception module work utilizing camera and IMU sensor data
- Developed image stitching plug-in components for large-scale scene UAV based on OpenCV
- Wrote the plug-in C++ code to serialize images and made them stable in air-to-ground transmission
- Added the description document and provided the easy-to-use API of group perception module and accomplished communication with other project groups’ work

Zhejiang University is located in Hangzhou, China, a famous historical and cultural city known as "heaven on earth". The former of it is Qiushi academy, founded in 1897, which is one of the earliest modern institutions of higher learning founded by the Chinese themselves.
During my time at Zhejiang University I learnt most of my key skills that have I have taken through my career such as teamwork and working to tight deadlines. I thouroughly enjoyed my time as university and learnt a lot about a healthy work life balance.
I spent a lot of my free time as as vice-president of street dance club, captain of the popping dance team, director of the university student union and national second-level basketball referee.
